Home­made Plum Sauce

Home­made Plum Sauce (from this web­site)
(makes a lit­tle over a cup)
  • 1 cup plum jam or plum preserves
  • 2 table­spoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1 table­spoon onion, minced
  • 2 tea­spoons honey
  • 1 tea­spoon fresh gin­ger, grated
  • 1 gar­lic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tea­spoon crushed red pep­per flakes
  • Pinch of salt
Mix all ingre­di­ents and sim­mer in a small saucepan for about five min­utes, whisk­ing con­stant­ly.  If the sauce is not used right away, it may stiff­en, and can be res­ur­rect­ed with a lit­tle very hot or boil­ing water.
