and John’s saved the day!

--July 25th, 2010--

My brilliant husband has saved the day!  The blog seems to be accepting photos now!  I’ll inundate you…

peaches with vanilla whipped cream

And…

pepper (sweet yellow for sweet Avery) stuffed with goat cheese and Fox Point, grilled

And this…

This last was the platter of toppings for our LUSCIOUS and crazily piled-up pizza last night: sausages with provolone and parsley, a superbly juicy red onion from the local farmstand, hot poblano peppers, baby portabella mushrooms, a sweet red pepper, some slightly shrivelly cherry tomatoes who needed to be eaten, Moroccan cured olives, and a really good local mozzarella… HEAVEN.

Sigh of relief, sigh of gratitude to Foxy Tech Support for solving my photograph problem!

Here’s the thing about blogging.  It starts out as a little experiment in keeping your family and friends informed about your life.  Then slowly, insidiously, it becomes a manner of self-expression as necessary as breathing!  And when you try to take a deep breath and all you get is a little message saying, “fatal error, out of memory,” you collapse in a sort of toddler-ish mess of frustration.  How dare you not be able to show the world your new kittens and your peaches and cream?

Sigh.  More soon.  But one more kitty picture, just to whet your adopting appetites…

  2. kristen:

    True!! Well shot!

  3. John's Mom:

Not to disparage the fine work Foxy Tech Support supplied, but I have an additional request. What I’d like is to be able to enlarge the photos when I double click on them. Any chance of that? You know how I pore over all the little details in the photo at hand.

Also, the kitten photos are lovely. Just look at how detailed the whiskers are. Nice job.

  4. kristen:

Were you able to do that, John’s mom, on the original blog? That might help in finding out how to do it now… The kitties are wonderful so you must see them in detail! One sick at her stomach today which has led to a complete overhaul of all supplies, and a shampoo bath for her, not her favorite thing!

Kristen — So glad you have solved your photo problems and the way you described it was right on. Funny how much a part of you it becomes! Kudos to John and I can’t wait to see more. Those kittens are darn cute by the way! Have a great week.

Ah Ann, I knew you’d understand! Have I sent you yet to my daughter’s cute blog, a makeup review? http://www.abrushwithbeauty.wordpress.com... it’s so cute!

  7. Bee:

The first year I blogged I didn’t use any photos … and now I can’t bear to post without them! I know exactly how you must have felt.

We are just enjoying those few short weeks when peaches can be found in Waitrose. I made peach cobbler the other night. I can’t get through July without it.

  8. kristen:

Waitrose peaches, Bee! They are quite perfect. How about Portobello Road? Any better? Here we are inundated at the farmstand. And the day we picked six pounds of blueberries? Don’t get me started on the peaches we got that day. Unbelievable.
