third course: always tonight at 7.30 — book cover

It’s official! I have spent five long years creating recipes, taking all my own photographs for the first time (learning along the way!), and telling all the important stories about all the precious people in my life on both sides of the Atlantic, and with a quick and glamorous foray into France!

Finally, my new baby “third course: always tonight at 7.30” has been born. I am a very proud new parent.

Our Kickstarter campaign for the cookbook was lively and energetic, and I get a tremendous spark of excitement every time someone sends me photos of what they have been cooking. You’ll find a wide variety of skills on offer in the new book – breads, spicy rubs, comforting casseroles, complicated and challenging recipes like marmalade and chocolate babka, and all the funny and personal stories that go along with each new dish.

My favourite recipe in the new book? I have to go with the beautiful dish I chose for the front cover — spinach tart with feta and puff pastry. It’s just delicious: crispy, savoury, creamy, and oh so nutritious. It’s perfect for a party, vegetarian-friendly but also rich and indulgent.

But don’t stop there – dip in and out of the book to find recipes for courgette and Stilton soup, roasted chicken biryani, crispy cod with brown butter, the rolls royce of oatmeal cookies… Oh, I’m hungry now!
