How wonderful, Work, my first comment! There are some really funny bits in the index, as befits this enormous project worked on by two people who don’t cook! So “bolognese” will move from “sauces” to “pasta”, and “crabcakes” from “desserts” to “shellfish”… ! Julian and his staff have worked overtime and I think their eyes must have glazed over with eight different versions of Lillian Hellman chicken. But I LOVE my index!
Wow – it’s just grand! Congratulations and I’ll be watching this space – will ring over the weekend … just now recovering from immense jet lag – I love the current potato salad recipe – will try that next week when friends come to dinner!
I am a happy dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States, a former art historian and gallerist, the wife of the wonderful John Curran, and the mother of Avery Curran, historian and novelist here in London. I’m a member of the Guild of Food Writers and a judge for the Great Taste Awards and the Quality Food Awards. I am also the author of five cookbooks, two for food surplus charities and now three in my personal series, “tonight at 7.30: one family’s life at the table,”“second helpings: more tonight at 7.30,” and now, excitingly, the latest instalment, “third course: always tonight at 7.30.” These books reflect my belief in the importance of good food, shared generously, and the stories that help us remember the friends and family around our table.
I love it!!! I think the first thing I am going to make is the hot artichoke dip, this weekend, for a dinner party we are going to.

Jo, cannot wait to talk whenever you have the energy: jet lag is SO much worse coming this direction! The potato salad needs salt, FYI. xoxox
