Avery’s away, the taste buds will play

by admin · October 6, 2007

So Avery’s at Becky’s house with her beloved Anna for a sleepover, and we have no time to spare: adult evening, which means… food Avery doesn’t like. Quick, to the stove.

Seared Scallops with Moroccan spices

Curried Shrimp with Lemon Grass and Ginger

Baby Pak Choi and Savoy Cabbage

**********

A completely divine dinner. Now there must be an unsuitable movie waiting somewhere…

About Kristen

I am a happy dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States, a former art historian and gallerist, the wife of the wonderful John Curran, and the mother of Avery Curran, historian and novelist here in London. I’m a member of the Guild of Food Writers and a judge for the Great Taste Awards and the Quality Food Awards. I am also the author of five cookbooks, two for food surplus charities and now three in my personal series, “tonight at 7.30: one family’s life at the table,” “second helpings: more tonight at 7.30,” and now, excitingly, the latest instalment, “third course: always tonight at 7.30.” These books reflect my belief in the importance of good food, shared generously, and the stories that help us remember the friends and family around our table.
